460.xx nvidia-powerd

Currently, 460.27.04 ships a binary called nvidia-powerd, but it’s completely undocumented.

There’s no indication where it’s supposed to be installed (c.f., installedcomponents section), what it is supposed to do and how it’s used. It doesn’t even seem to respond to -h or --help flags.

Can you please document that? At least… a bit?

Also, on the note of installedcomponents: is there any way to find out where nvidia-installer would install files/components (I guess that’s part of the MODULE magic in .manifest?) to? The HTML documentation is nice to have, but if something is missing there, there seems to currently be no way to directly find out where a file is supposed to be installed. I hope that it’s not just magically baked into nvidia-installer.

Let’s start the guessing game, I get:
SBIOS support not found for NVPCF
NVCPF according to Google stands for ‘Nvidia platform controller framework’ only known for causing problems with Windows.
‘strings’ tells me that it’s looking for AC/battery
I guess, it’s an extensible power daemon (obvious) replacing the intel-only method for runtime-pm in https://http.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/460.27.04/README/dynamicpowermanagement.html
