About AGX orin's HDMI HPD

Hi…

The link below discusses HDMI HPD on Jetson Nano.

JetsonNANO p3449 HDMI HDMI_HPD interface design problem - Jetson & Embedded Systems / Jetson Nano - NVIDIA Developer Forums

Like the Nano above, when a plug-in is detected in AGX orin, does HDMI HPD drop to low?

Thanks,
Raymond Lee

It depends on level shift: Level shifters required on DDC/HPD. Orin module pads are not 5V tolerant and cannot directly meet HDMI VIL/VIH requirements. HPD level shifter can be non-inverting or inverting.

On devkit, it should be high.

Hi Trumany…

So when the sink is plugged in, we just need to apply high to the HPD of the AGX orin module?

Thanks,
Raymond Lee

Hi…

The gist of the question is whether I need to pull a high (logic high) to the hpd pin to tell the AGX orin module that the sink is plugged in.

Thanks,
Raymond

Yes, for devkit, HPD should be high when display plug in.

Hi Trumany…

Let me ask again just to confirm…

Your comment just above is that HDMI HPD of AGX Orin is Active high, right?

Thanks,
Raymond Lee

Hi Trumany…

The reason I keep asking is because it seems that when you plug in an HDP into an HDMI Sink (monitor) in the AGX Orin’s DG circuit, the HPD signal of the AGX Orin module is inverted through the FET.

Thanks,
Raymond Lee

I mean it should be high at the pin of HDMI connector when display plug in.
