Black screen comes and goes

Hello All,

on this box here, a black screen will pop up randomly for a couple of seconds, and then go back to normal: any ideas?

Stats:

Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
Windowing X11
NVIDIA Corporation TU117 [GeForce GTX 1650]
Nvidia driver proprietary 535.113.01
NVML 12.535.113.01
Display HP Z27 4K refresh 60Hz

Tried using a different cable/connector?

Hi, Same issue here :

  • Debian Testing
  • Kernel : 6.5.0-2-amd64
  • X11
  • Nvidia drivers : 535.113.01
  • RTX 3050

I have black screen or screen is frozen for several seconds when using Wine + DXVK games.
TTY console have also issue to refresh. I have to switch between terminal to get screen refreshed.

Rolling back to driver 535.98 => no issues at all.

No, I didn’t try another cable, should I?
What makes you think that the cable is defective?
It was working with older drivers!

You didn’t give much information besides your monitor is misbehaving.

That should rule out a cable issue. Also @poupouille’s post confirms a driver bug introduced in 535.113.01.
Please run nvidia-bug-report.sh as root and attach the resulting nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file to your post.
