Boot fail after reboot

Hi,

We have an IGX Orin board kit without RTX A6000 which install IGX-SW 1.0 Production Release and update all firmware.

Machine run a few months. Today, reboot the machine and can't boot anymore.

Check the problem by login into BMC and the log show up

“ASSERT [FvbNorFlashStandaloneMm] /out/nvidia/optee.t234-uefi/StandaloneMmOptee_RELEASE/edk2-nvidia/Silicon/NVIDIA/Drivers/FvbNorFlashDxe/FvbNorFlashStandaloneMm.c(937): ((BOOLEAN)(0==1))”

The problem look like same as this post, [JETSON ORIN NANO] Boot Fail - #7 by KevinFFF

  1. Does this also happen on IGX orin platform?
  2. Can we just re-flash Bootloader(QSPI) to recovery it or need to re-flash whole OS?

BR,
david

Hi david242,

Yes, they seem the similar issue and you should be able to re-flash QSPI to recover this state.

Hi KevinFFF:
Will the issue be fixed in the next release?
If so, when will it be?
Edit:
Will the other issues, such as the power off issue caused by SMCU firmware, also be updated?

Many Thanks.

Yes, this issue should be fixed in the up-coming IGX SW1.1.

Yes, the SMCU firmware in After power off command, IGX Orin fan run in full speed - #2 will also be included.

Hi KevinFFF:
Thanks for the reply. May I know when will SW 1.1 be released?

Many Thanks.

It was targeting release in Nov. but it seems there’s some delay.
Please wait for the official announcement.
