Connecting a ConnectX-5 to ConnectX-6 via DAC

We currently have two ConnectX-5 (MCX515A-CCAT) connected via a DAC (CBL-NTWK-0942-MQ28C15M) but one of the systems is being replaced/upgraded with a newer system that has a ConnectX-6 (MCX653105A-HDAT).

I am having trouble finding the right SKU for a replacement DAC to connect these directly since the older has a QSFP28 while the new has a QSFP56.

Is this still possible to do?

Hi,

Please see the following link for a list of approved and supported cables:
https://docs.nvidia.com/networking/display/connectx6firmwarev20432026lts/validated+and+supported+cables+and+switches

Additionally, you can still use the QSFP28 cable between the ConnectX-5 and ConnectX-6, but please note that you’ll get limited speeds and performance on the ConnectX-6 due to the cable being only QSFP28.

If there are still any additional issues, please open a case with enterprisesupport@nvidia.com, and it will be handled based on entitlement.

Thanks,
Jonathan.
