CUDA-enabled Driver does not work on Ubuntu 8.10-installed T61p

Hi,

Today morning, I tried to upgrade my NVidia Quadro 570M driver to the latest 108.x driver (for Ubuntu) on the CUDA website but once I was done, X server wasn’t able to restart on my Lenovo T61p. What could be the reason?

I have the same problem, Same laptop and ubuntu version.
Has anyone gotten any cuda enabled drivers to work with 8.10?

Over in another thread i have gotton news that 8.10 is not oficially supported by nvidia,
therefore there are lots of problems with cuda enabled drivers

the solution for me is to add an install of 8.04 which is supported by NVIDIA…
ill report back to see if that works
