I have a Slackware 12.2 desktop with a Gforce 8600GT and want to install CUDA. However, there are only already-packaged build available on the download page. Is there no generic tarball I can download?
If not, then I will have to pick apart one of the packages that you do offer…

By the way you have to do like some people and download the Red Hat version or another that is compatible (Works)
This is an old thread but posting FWIW. There seems to be a way to install this on Slackware and I am in the process of trying it out. The instructions are here. Scroll down for the CUDA section.
Update:
There is also another thread on this topic in this forum: Cuda on Slackware 13 amd64. I will post the rest of the updates re: my installation process there.
