Hello
ACER Nitro 5 AN517-54 laptop - Core i9. RTX 3070 GPU. Win 11
I need Open GL 1.3 for my rtx 3070. The DAZ 3D software refuses to work. The message from DAZ 3D: “Daz Studio requires at least OpenGL version 1.3. Your machine currently provides OpenGL 1.1. Please contact your video card provider to get updated drivers or upgrade to an OpenGL 1.3 compatible graphics card.”
How to install this 1.3 version?
THANKS
You get that message in case the driver is not properly installed.
Check device manager for code 43 or similar
Hello and thank you for the help. I followed the Windows instructions, uninstalled then reinstalled the RTX 3070 GPU driver. Nothing changes. I still have Open GL 1.1. I also reinstalled the 546.33 driver from the NVIDIA website. There is no change. I still have Open GL 1.1. But Daz works with Open GL 1.3. It’s crazy.
Hi there @remy.bazzali and welcome to the NVIDIA developer forums.
Current NVIDIA drivers are at OpenGL 4.6 so I highly doubt it is a driver issue.
Did you check your environment if there is some setting overriding the OpenGL version? Some old Mesa installation or some system environment variable like QT_OpenGL that is set to use Angle or similar?
Try running OpenGL Extension Viewer to verify that the correct OpenGL version is reported.
I seriously hate to be the guy necroposting. But I am having this exact same Issue. It needs OpenGL in order to run, but for some reason with each installation, it installs OpenGL onto my Integrated Intel Graphics Card, rather than my actual NVIDIA GPU.
I’ve tried everything, from uninstalling the Intel GPU to completely deleting all of my drivers, nothing works. All of my problems seem to come from the fact that DAZ defaults to my CPU, and when I disable CPU rendering, it goes to my integrated GPU. Like because there’s no OpenGL on my 5090, it literally can’t use it.
Any way possible to get OpenGL onto my machine? It’s been driving me nuts and I can’t render or do any simulations or rendering with how slow it is.
