DGX Spark, loses display signal

Hello,

Im experiencing hardware issues with a DGX Spark unit.
The End-user had alot of issues with throttling and overheating that got worse with time. Right now it wont even boot into the OS.

I’ve connect the computer with the original poweradapter and a HDMI to the monitor.
The computer starts POSTing with the Nvidia logo, but the monitor quickly loses connection.
Same issue with a different monitor and HDMI cable.

  1. Are you able to boot into BIOS?
  2. Can you ssh into the machine after it has stopped POSTing?

I can enter BIOS and Ubunto recovery menu.
I could not get SSH to work

Something broke in recent updates. I’ve just updated a new box and here is what I’ve witnessed:

  • Connecting a USB-C portable monitor to do the initial setup worked fine.
  • After the updates, neither the monitor, nor a TV connected via HDMI detect any signal. I have to ping the box to know when it’s online.
  • The other box used to show the SED password prompt during reboots, now I have to type blind

Im getting the same issue from the update. I am able to:

See the initial nvidia boot logo, but it looses signal when it boots into the OS

Im able to ssh into the box just fine

Already done all the updates

Thanks for the heads up! I’m not updating my units until this is sorted.

I would recommend trying to install the OS recovery image if you can access BIOS
