DGX Spark Won't Boot Past NVIDIA Logo — BIOS Inaccessible

Hi all,

Looking for help with my DGX Spark Founders Edition that is completely stuck on the NVIDIA splash screen. Here’s the full breakdown:

Symptoms:

  • On power-on, the NVIDIA logo appears followed by a brief spinner animation
  • The spinner disappears, the screen goes black, and the system never progresses to the OS or any setup screen
  • No UEFI/BIOS menu appears despite repeatedly pressing Esc and Del during boot

What I’ve tried:

  • Full power drain (unplugged for extended period) with all peripherals disconnected
  • Reconnected with only a wired USB keyboard and display
  • Attempted both HDMI and USB-C display connections
  • Multiple boot attempts pressing Esc/Del immediately on power-on
  • I have the official DGX Spark recovery image on a USB drive, but I cannot reach BIOS to select Boot Override

Setup:

  • DGX Spark Founders Edition
  • Standard wired USB keyboard (not Bluetooth/wireless)
  • [Add your display model and connection type]

I’ve seen similar reports from other users on this forum. Any suggestions for getting into BIOS or forcing a recovery boot would be very helpful. If this requires an RMA or support ticket, please let me know the best path forward.

Thanks in advance.

Hi davis.ken.r,

When you see a spinner past the NVIDIA logo, it’s an indication that there was a Linux kernel crash, but you still should be able to access the BIOS since you are booting into the OS. This is likely a peripheral issue, but I see you’ve attempted with a wired keyboard already. Knowing this, you may contact NVIDIA DGX Spark Support for a replacement (you must reference this thread when you speak with them about RMA). Just note that if this ends up being a peripheral issue, a new system might experience the same issues.

Random thought – are you using a USB hub to connect the USB-A keyboard to USB-C on the Spark? Sometimes hubs are weird – try a different hub or a direct USB-C ↔ USB-A adapter. Just hoping you can find a solution other than RMA.
