Difference between Jetson Nano and Jetson Nano Developer kit

Hi,

We are having a requirement and we hope Jetson Nano will best fit for our requirement.
But we have few doubt on Jetson Nano and Jetson Nano Developer kit. Kindly advise.

  1. What is the difference between Jetson Nano and Jetson Nano Developer kit? Why Jetson Nano

more expensive than Jetson Nano Developer kit?
  2. Jetson Nano is part of the Jetson Nano Developer kit right? I hope Jetson Nano Developer kit/board having Jetson Nano board in below the heat sink/FAN right? If not, which board is that? PFA the image FYI.
  3. Online showing 59$ price for Jetson Nano Developer kit. Which include both Jetson Nano Carrier board and Jetson Nano board right? PFA the image FYI.
  4. How i can contact NVIDIA sales representative?

Thanks and regards,
Naveen K

Hi naveenk,

Each Jetson developer kit includes a non-production specification Jetson module attached to a reference carrier board. Together with JetPack SDK, it is used to develop and test software for your use case. Jetson developer kits are not intended for production use.

Jetson modules are suitable for deployment in a production environment throughout their operating lifetime, that’s why it’s expensive than devkit. Each Jetson module ships with no software pre-installed; you attach it to a carrier board designed or procured for your end product, and flash it with the software image you’ve developed.

You need to design the carrier board(or using our ecosystem partner products) and refer to the Jetson Nano Thermal Design Guide to design your product.

You may find the Contact Us from Autonomous Machines | NVIDIA Developer

Thanks

Hi Kayccc,

Thank you for the information.

  1. So, Jetson Nano module is different board and Jetson module in the Developer kit is different board, not the same board, right?

  2. We cant use Jetson Nano board on Jetson Developer kit? Any carrier boards available for Jetson Nano for Development purpose or we should design our own Carrier board?

  3. CPU/MPU, GPU used in Jetson Nano will be available separately as SOC to design our own boards? or it will be not sold as SOC?

  4. If we want to make a product with “* GPU: 128-core NVIDIA Maxwell * CPU: Quad-core ARM® A57 @ 1.43 GHz” We should by Jetson Nano module and we need to deploy in our carrier board or We can also procure above GPU,CPU and we can design as a single board to eliminate Carrier board?

Thanks and regards,
Naveen K

Commercial module has eMMC, developer kit does not. Commercial module warranty is transferrable to end customers, dev kits are not.

That depends on you, you can either purchase our ecosystem partners carrier board Jetson Partner Hardware Products | NVIDIA Developer or design yours by referring the Jetson Nano Product Design Guide.

No, we only provide Jetson Nano™ System-on-Module (SoM).

same as above, no SoC provided, customers can only purchase Jetson module and develop their carrier board(or purchase from ecosystem partners) for production.

Hi Kayccc,

Thank you for the information.

  1. Could you advise or connect to concerned person/team on this, For Quotation, Leadtime, MOQ.
  2. To conclude, NVIDIA will not provide any other CPU, GPU on SOC to make our own SOM?NVIDIA will sell only SOM’s for all the CPU/GPU right?
3.Jetson Nano Designed and manufactured by NVIDIA or any other Partners?

Thanks and regards,
Naveen K

Please contact with our ecosystem partner or local distributor.

Correct, we only provide SOM.

We designed all carrier boards and SOMs, and ask EMS to produce our products.
