We are planning on deploying DLSS 4.5 (the latest version of the plugin, version 8.5.0) in our game, which we’re developing using Unreal Engine 5.7.4 (latest as of writing), however it has come to our attention that the game is crashing on startup for at least one of our private playtesters. This player is playing on their own gaming rig, which houses an NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti, which should be compatible with at least some of the features deployed in DLSS 4.5.
At the very least, it shouldn’t cause the game to crash on startup with an error.
I have tried several things to try and resolve this issue, but so far the only “fix” has been to disable DLSS and all Nvidia plugins completely before compiling the project. If we cannot find a way to resolve this issue within a few weeks, we’re probably going to have to ship without support for DLSS- which would be a terrible shame!
So far we’ve tried;
- Deleting the DerivedDataCache directory before compiling the project
- Disabling DLSS and all Nvidia plugin features on startup.
- Tried setting different startup variables, such as r.NGX.Enable=0 and r.NGX.DLSS.Enable=0
- Tried disabling all Nvidia / Streamline plugins except for those strictly required for DLSS to function (“Nvidia DLSS Super Resolution/Ray Reconstruction/DLAA” & “Nvidia NGX/Streamline Common”)
I have attached the crash log generated by the game with this post. If anyone has any clue as to what might be causing the problem (or how to fix it!) please let us know!
