Does NVIDIA Grid support Linux Guest VM's?

Hello, I am currently running an application that uses 3D graphics with an NVIDIA card on a dedicated laptop machine. I am trying to virtualize the Linux machine as a guest VM so that I can run my 3D application as a virtual appliance. I have seen that the NVIDIA GRID supports Windows guests machines for graphics virtualization using VMware, but does it also support Linux guests? Are there any VMware virtual graphics drivers that will support this?

Thanks!

Hi

Yes, the GRID software supports both Windows and Linux.

To obtain the drivers for your hypervisor and the guest VMs, you need to go here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/grid-evaluation.html#utm_source=shorturl&utm_medium=referrer&utm_campaign=grid-eval and register for an evaluation, you can then begin the setup process.

Just to let you know, there is a big upgrade being released on September 1st. The GRID software will go from 4.3 to 5.0. If you’re not in an immediate rush to complete the install, it would be worth waiting until this is available to save you upgrading immediately afterwards.

Regards
