Does the CSI of Jetson AGX Orin support extended virtual channels, such as vc-id = <4>; vc-id = <5>; vc-id = <6>; … vc-id = <16>?
hello yanxiao,
may I know what’s the actual use-case?
for instance,
how many camera streams you’re going to enabled? do you need to utilize Jetson ISP?
please see-also developer guide for reference, Jetson Virtual Channel with GMSL Camera Framework
Our actual use case is as follows: In the schematic design, the MAX96712 is only connected to a 1*4 lane CSI, but after aggregation, the MAX96712 needs to output 8 image data streams. VC0 ~ VC3 cannot meet the requirement of outputting 8 data streams, so VC0 ~ VC7 are needed. The MAX96712 support extended virtual channels, but when I tried to modify the device tree of the AGX Orin to include VC0 ~ VC7, no images could be obtained from VC4 ~ VC7. Therefore, I would like to ask whether the AGX Orin suppor textended virtual channels.
We do not need to use the Jetson ISP.
hello 1173873393,
Jetson AGX Orin series supports a maximum of 24 virtual channels without ISP.
please see-also developer guide for the CSI connection diagram, you’ll need to have two aggregators at 1st CSI brick (CSI-A/B) to have 8-cam connections.
it support only VC0-3, VC4-7 is not supported.
Do other platforms in the Jetson series support extended virtual channels? I noticed that Jetson Orin NX has similar descriptions.
hello 1173873393,
we’re not support extended virtual channels, please add aggregators for your camera solutions.
Thank you
