Hi,

I am trying to update our new Orin device to Drive OS 6.0.6, however when flashing I get:

Tried on 2 PC both Ubuntu 20.04 (one fresh install) and using both SDK Manager and NGC containers with the original USB-C to USB cable. All the error logs attached are generated with NGC container.

Have seen the other topics on the issue and tried to power reset from minicom but did not help. Version info:

Dear @gabriel.kiss,
I notice “Could not put Tegra-A in recovery” in driveinstaller.log.
Note that you should keep the board in normal mode(Not recovery mode) when use sdkmanager/docker to flash.

Could you reboot host and target and share below logs.

Connect host and target using usb cable to flash.
run lsusb on host and share the log
Connect to Aurix console using minicom and run tegrarecovery x1 on & tegrareset x1 . This sets board in recovery mode
Now run lsusb on host and share log. You should see additional NVIDIA device in log.

I see aurix version is 6.0.4. Is the board currently has DRIVE OS 6.0.4?
Could you check changing connection wires, monitor events on host when settings target in recovery and share connection pictures as discussed in Sdkmanager Drive Orin Flash OS 6.0.6 fails - #15 by SivaRamaKrishnaNV

Indeed the board came with 6.0.4 pre-installed.

There is no output in udevadm when running tegrarecovery x1 on and tegrareset x1

sudo udevadm monitor
monitor will print the received events for:
UDEV - the event which udev sends out after rule processing
KERNEL - the kernel uevent

Tested a different cable to connect host to device, no change. When switching cables this is the output of udevadm:

Dear @gabriel.kiss,
Thanks for sharing the logs. Is the board flashed earlier using sdkmamager/docker or this is the first time you ever tried flashing target and noticed it? Could you share connection picture as well for confirmation?
I notice the hardware platform is not selected in description. Are you using DRIVE AGX Orin Devkit or other platform s based on DRIVE Orin?

The board was not flashed before, this is the first trial to update from the factory settings. Tried first with SDK manager and then with the container base approach.

Here comes the connections image:

(removed the USB-A cables for keyboard and mouse to avoid confusion) and checked now, the platform is this one: DRIVE AGX Orin Developer Kit (940-63710-0010-300) and I am on a native Ubuntu Linux 20.04 host.

Setup is in my office, trying to get ready most things before installing in the car.

Please refer to the ‘Getting Started’ chapter in DRIVE AGX Orin Developer Kit Hardware Quick Start Guide and ensure that you connect to ‘the LEFT USB Type-C port on the Developer System (for flashing)’.
