Driver 535 Gaming Performance Issues (seemingly when Vulkan is involved)

Hi, I’ve seen that people have reported issues with this driver version, but not sure if this has been reported.

I managed to replicate this problem with a few games while some where completely fine, the difference between them seemed to be whether they used OpenGL, DirectX (via steam proton) or Vulkan. The Vulkan ones seem to have major performance issues on driver 535.

I will use Total War Warhammer 3 as an example, running the native Linux build. On driver 535 every aspect of the game, from the main menu to campaign map to battle runs at around 1 to 10FPS. My GPU during this time doesn’t seem to be being utilised properly. It isn’t getting hot, it isn’t performing.

If I install drivers 525 instead the performance goes back to how it used to be, where I would get around 90FPS in battles, and the graphics card audibly starts to spin up its fans and usage is high.

I’m using an Nvidia Titan XP on Linux Mint 21.2 which uses Ubuntu 22.04 as its base.
Kernel 5.15.0-78

Same issue on ubuntu 22.04 LTS with nvidia-driver-535. Performance much worse than with nvidia-driver-525. Had to go back to nvidia-driver-525.
But 525 breaks (freeze) on CounterStrike2.
With 525 driver CounterStrike2 startsup and gaming is possible. But the graphics performance is so poor that the game is unplayable.
Have to stick with 525 for work. Gaming not possible 525 freeze, 535 very bad performance.

Running ubuntu 22.04 LTS with wayland Hardware: Nvidia GTX1060.
AMD® Ryzen 5 2600 six-core processor × 12
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2
