Hello NVIDIA,

Since DriveWorks supports USB Cameras, would it be possible to use a HDMI to USB Capture Card, to use the Signal coming from an HDMI Output as a camera in DriveWorks running on the AGX Orin DevKit?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

We haven’t tried using a HDMI to USB capture card with DriveWorks before. However, I’m curious about why you want to do this? Can you provide more details about your use case?

Thanks.

I think, it should be possible, if the image data coming via HDMI is in the right format (yuv411) DriveWorks should treat the signal like a camera, if I create it using camera.usb, or do you have concerns?

While DriveWorks supports USB cameras, we have not tested using an HDMI to USB capture card to capture the signal from an HDMI output and use it as a camera in DriveWorks. DriveWorks camera.usb protocol leverages the OpenCV (USB) library. So if this works on OpenCV, it may work on DriveWorks. However, please note that we cannot guarantee its functionality since it has not been officially tested.
