Ferrite Bead on HDMI Termination?

Hello,

I am designing a carrier board, and I am confused on why the ferrite bead termination is needed (LB1-LB8), in addition to the 499 ohm pull down, on the HDMI signals as seen on the reference schematic?

I don’t want to add something that is not needed, but I am sure you added for a good reason, I just can’t find it anywhere in the literature on what it is there for.

In the OEM Product Design Guide, it indicates it is optional.

Thanks.

These resistors are for HDMI Voff test (ID 7-3). The beads are optional to filter high frequency interference.
