Flashing to Jetson Agx Xavier

Hi, I am trying to flash jetpack to jetson agx xavier using sdk manager. However, since I was not able to use automatic setup, it goes well with manual setup. But when its time to install the components, it shows error that default Ip cannot be found.

I tried to do lsusb, and it shows NVIDIA on the list. Yet it still shows error.

I also tried to manually flash using the sudo ./flash.sh jetson-xavier mmcblk0p1, it shows error:

Error: probing the target board failed.
Make sure the target board is connected through
USB port and is in recovery mode.

Are you using the devkit or custom board?

Do you run SDKM on a standalone Ubuntu18.04 host PC?
Or VM/docker related platform as your host PC.

Do you make sure the board in Force Recovery Mode before flash?
To Determine Whether the Developer Kit Is in Force Recovery Mode
For Xavier, you should see 7019 after running lsusb.

The board is in Recovery Mode before flash. I can see this.

Using SDKM might be an easier way for you to flash the devkit.

After flashing, I used manual setup but then it gives error message like this:

Not exactly one NVIDIA Jetson device is connected with USB. For using default Ipv4 address, please connect exactly one Jetson device.

After flashing, I cant see the NVIDIA in the lsusb command.

Also, after flashing, the Jetson is not booting up. It only shows test key is used. then it will go just into a loop.

You could just upload the log file, you don’t need to paste the contents here.

Could you show me the result of lsusb before you run the flash command or SDKM flash process?

From the log you just provided, it looks like that the flash Jetson OS to the board has been done.

Could you boot up the board now?
If there’s any issue at boot up, please refer the following instruction to provide the serial console log for further check.

Do you connect the Micro-USB to your host PC?

  • Micro-USB port is used for serial console log.
  • TypeC-USB port is used for flash the board.

Please also try with other cable or port on your host PC.

Hi, it is connected now thru micro-usb and it is showing already in my lsusb:

Then I changed the port to dev/ttyUSB3. Then it’s not showing anything. Then it suddenly showing these information.


It looks like there’s kernel panic on your board.
Do you know which component causes this kernel panic?

Have you tried to connect a external monitor from the devkit to check if it could boot up successfully?

Is there any peripheral connected on your board?

Could you help to provide the flash log for further check?

I flash it initially using the SDKM, but the installation did not push through. Then I used flash.sh. Here are the logs from SDKM previously.
