GSML cameras access with OpenCV

We would like to access the input of 2 GSML cameras from the Drive PX2 and stream them to an external screen for driver update of the surroundings. We are considering to use OpenCV, and it seems that quite a few have wondered about the same but is it possible?

Do you have any alternative suggestions for this procedure? It seems quite challenging to use the GSML cameras with alternative solutions rather than DriveWorks SDK.
