Happy Birthday, OpenCL 1.1. conformance candidate

On June 14th 2010, the OpenCL 1.1 conformance candidate was released! Too bad it is not allowed to go out playing for now…

Oh… wait that’s a candle…

I thought it was something else at first. Still a good post though :)

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear OpenCL 1.1 conformance candidate
Happy birthday to you!

May you evil parents soon let you out to play!
Perhaps in an R280 driver??

I don’t want to wait any more and decide to try Intel OpenCL SDK. I really like the developer support of Intel. Each post on the forum of Intel OpenCL SDK is replied as soon as possible by their staffs.
However, I still like the products of Nvidia and hope they will release the OpenCL 1.1 driver and tell me I made wrong decision. Then I will come back.

The 280.04 beta linux driver actually claims that it is OpenCL 1.1. Didn’t have time to test if it’s for real though yet. And strangely, the driver claims that it is OpenCL 1.1 but the card says that it’s version is OpenCL 1.0.

Anybody else tested this and can say if we finally have an OpenCL 1.1 modern driver on our hands?

heheheh Linux got 280.xx driver first than windows :)It’s a bit sad…
