Hi there, I work in TV, and we are facing an issue with the RTX A4000. We need to set up one of the output video (DP->HDMI) with an FHD resolution BUT with Interlaced Scan. I can do it without a problem using old Nvidia cards, or current Intel or ATI. But it seems it is impossible with this RTX Ampere version. I read somewhere in this Forum that since Touring NVIDIA doesnt support Interlaced Encoding (H.264 or HEVC) anymore, and it is fairly understandable. But this is why I can
t make an output of 1080i ??? I will appreciate any insight. At this moment I am using a Blackmagic Scan Converter to fix this.
Many thanks and greetings from Argentina!
Hello @dariorodriguez and welcome to the NVIDIA developer forums.
I am sorry, but your information is correct, NVIDIA GPUs stopped supporting interlaced encoding (and as such Display output of interlaced content) with Turing generation GPUs.
(Refer to e.g. “H264 field encoding” support in the Video SDK application notes)
Thanks!
