Information/sample for NvBufferImportFd

Hi,
This question is not specific to TX2, but this is what I’m using at the moment. Does anyone have any example code for using NvBufferImportFd. I’d like to be able to create an NVBuffer via NvEGLImageFromFd in one process and use the fd from that buffer in another process. NvBufferImportFd looks like the way to do it, but the documentation is somewhat opaque and there are no examples in the multimedia api samples.
Help much appreciated.
