Is this a supported 56Gbe configuration?

I’m using a SN2100 switch and everything seems to work fine with ConnectX-5 cards. I was just trying to add another older server using ConnectX-3 cards, which I expected to work at 56Gbe, but I get no link. I’ve installed all of the latest drivers and firmware, and I’m using MCP1600 cables. The cards are 354A-FCBT. Both ports are configured for etrhernet:

/sbin/connectx_port_config -s

Is this configuration not supported? Any idea how to get a link up if it is?

Hello Steve,

Many thanks for posting your question on the Mellanox Community.

Based on the information provided, 56GbE is supported, but you need to force the speed on the switch to 56GbE. After that the link will come up on the ConnectX-3 at 56GbE.

Please update us if this resolves your issue.

Many thanks,

~Mellanox Technical Support
