[Jetpack 3.2] Problems flashing TX2 using native Ubuntu host machine

Is it correct that you have a native Ubuntu 18.04 LTS installed on your m17? Are you using the JetPack 3.2 release of the original post, or a different release?

After a flash, depending on which release you have installed, your host PC will have a directory named after that release, and after the Jetson. The TX2 dev kit would imply a “P3310” name, and for example, if you used JetPack 4.2, then you would have this on the host PC:
~/nvidia/nvidia_sdk/JetPack_4.2_Linux_P3310/Linux_for_Tegra/

If you go to whichever directory is correct for your release, then you could flash on command line (which simplifies requirements). Verify that “Linux_for_Tegra/rootfs/” is not empty (that it has a Linux filesystem in it…having tried to flash once implies the content would exist). Verify that you have at least 35GB of spare space formatted as type ext4 (“df -H -T ~/nvidia/nvidia_sdk/JetPack_4.2_Linux_P3310/Linux_for_Tegra/”) on your host PC. Then you could log a command line flash and post any error. An example if the Jetson is connected via the micro-B USB and in recovery mode (the “gawk” part is to try to reduce progress bar spam in the log file):
sudo ./flash.sh jetson-tx2 mmcblk0p1 2>1 | gawk '{gsub("[0-9][0-9]+[/][0-9[0-9]+ bytes sent..",".");print}' | tee flash_log.txt

Then you could post the flash log.

You might want to start a new thread if you are not using a VM. If you are using a VM, then the VM will cause problems and is not officially supported (the original poster was not using a VM). In the case of not using a VM you will want to provide more details (including which release you are flashing) since there are a lot of different ways things can fail.

This problem is different than the original post, so you will want to start a new thread. However, do know that if you used a VM this very often causes the inability to see the Jetson on USB even if the Jetson was initially visible via “lsusb”. The Jetson will repeatedly disconnect and reconnect during a flash, and a VM tends to lose the reconnect. The actual boot log is quite possibly from a corrupt flash only doing part of the flash, or else from a non-dev kit carrier board needing a specific board support package.

Please file a new topic. The topic says “Jetpack3.2”.
Since you pasted the picture of sdkmanager, it is definitely not a Jetpack3.2.

Also, this is a flash problem so you don’t need to paste the boot log.
