Jetpack 5.0.1 Required Ubuntu host version for cross compiling and custom build

Hi,
I remember reading that the Jetpack 5.0.1 requires an Ubuntu host 20.04 or above.
On the other hand, in one of my posts someone replied to try building the custom kernel , modules , dtb on an Ubuntu host 18.04.

Before I make any changes with my host - is it possible? can I use an Ubuntu 18.04 host for cross compiling L4T 34.1.1 for a custom board?

Both 18.04 and 20.04 can work.
