Jetson AGX Orin 32GB flash failed

I’m using sdkmanager-1.9.2.10888 to flash my Jetson-AGX-Orin-32G carrier board,but flash fail. The error is “ERROR: might be timeout in USB write.”.

  1. My host PC is “Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS”
  2. lsusb | grep NVIDIA
    Bus 003 Device 006: ID 0955:7223 NVIDIA Corp. APX

My AGX-Orin board is Micro-USB port. But I cannot found /dev/ttyACM*

Maybe my Micro-USB cable is wrong? But why lsusb and sdkmanager both can detect it?

Lsusb and sdkmanager are detecting the device from type C port, not related to micro usb port.

Please try other micro usb cable. This micro usb port can dump log no matter what status. If the board has power, then it shall be able to dump log.

Also, this micro usb port actually is a uart port. We just have usb-ttl adapter installed so it looks like a usb port…

After you plug the micro usb cable to your host machine, check the dmesg on your host machine if there is any error.

If there is an error that indicates ttyACM0 cannot be shown, try other host

I tried another two more host machines, one is Ubuntu2004 PC, the other one is Ubuntu1804 with VMvare player on Win10, and also cannot find ttyACM0

The “NV devkit” carrier board’s micro usb port is actually a uart pin with usb-ttl adapter installed. When I mentioned “micro usb port”. I am talking about devkit case.

If your “custom board” is making a real micro usb port which is on usb lane, then that is not what I said… that port cannot dump log… You need to find the uart pin to dump log.

Did you disable the cvm eeprom in config file ? Or you don’t know what I am talking about?

If you don’t know what I am talking about, then it is a hardware problem on your board.

If you know what I am saying, then please do not disable cvm eeprom read in cfg. Only disable cvb eeprom.

Who gave you this carrier board? Is this a custom board made by yourself? Or you just bought this board from some vendors?

And are you really sure that is Orin AGX device?

And are you really sure that is Orin AGX device? ==> At least, the jtop show it was ‘Jetson AGX Orin - Jetpack 5.0.2 GA [L4T 35.1.0]’ before I flash failure it.

  1. Please get the customized BSP from the board vendor. Sdkmanager can only flash the devkit board.

  2. That board is probably Xavier AGX carrier board becasue Orin AGX was not published 2 years ago.

Now the jtop show it was ‘Jetson AGX Orin - Jetpack 5.1 [L4T 35.2.1]’

Jtop only recognizes the module. It does not care bout what carrier board you are using.
