Jetson AGX Xavier Not Booting to HDMI Out

I’ve encountered a recurring issue where my Jetson AGX Xavier does not boot to the regular HDMI output. The boot screen is the same as in the thread here. This problem persists despite using the SDK Manager on an Ubuntu 20.04 laptop to reinstall Jetpack 5.1.3.

Details:

  • The device boots normally when connected to a monitor via a USB-C Dock over HDMI, but not directly through the built-in HDMI port.
  • This behavior is consistent whether I plug in and then power on the Jetson, reboot it, or power it on/off.
  • If the Jetson boots via the USB-C Dock, I can then get a signal through the built-in HDMI port.

I initially suspected a hardware failure, but the fact that the built-in HDMI works after a successful boot with the USB-C Dock suggests otherwise.

Request:

Could you help identify the cause of this behavior? Let me know if you need any logs or additional information.

Dump the dmesg when error happened. The screenshot photo really does not provide any help…

Also, try other kind of monitors too.

I manually flashed Linux onto my Jetson AGX Xavier, and the issue I mentioned earlier has been resolved. The boot screen from my original post still appears, but the system now boots up normally afterwards.

If the boot screen itself is a bug, I’ve included the dmesg logs here (81.9 KB) for reference.

There is no bug from that screenshot
