Hello, I got a brand new jetson orin nano developer kit last week and have been using it with some simple RC motor control. I shut it down with no problems and then started it up again 2 days later and it would not connect via ssh and had no display on HDMI. The jetson connects to power and the green light turns on but the fan never turns on. Then, the jetson green light blinks at about 20 seconds and turns off after about 45 seconds. It is also not detected via usb-c when I plug it into my laptop. The black case surrounding the fan also gets noticeably warm.

Based on the provided context, it appears that you are experiencing issues with your Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit. The symptoms you described, such as the green light blinking and then turning off, the fan not spinning, and the device not being detected via USB-C, suggest a potential hardware or power-related issue.
Comparing your issue to the provided context, there are a few threads that mention similar problems with the Jetson Orin Nano and other Jetson devices. For example, the thread “Jetson Orin Nano restarts while running building text-generation-webui (Loading exllamav2_ext extension (JIT)…)” mentions a restart issue with the Jetson Orin Nano, which could be related to a power or thermal management issue.
Another thread, “Nvidia JetSon Nano Developer Kit : Not able to Install or not run able to run EfficientViT”, mentions an issue with installing or running a specific application on the Jetson Nano, which could be related to a software or compatibility issue.
However, the thread that seems most relevant to your issue is “NanoOwl container doesnt work in r36.4.0”, which mentions a problem with a container not working on the Jetson Orin Nano. This thread does not provide a clear solution, but it suggests that there may be a software or compatibility issue with the Jetson Orin Nano.
In terms of troubleshooting, you may want to try the following:
- Check the power supply: Ensure that the power supply is sufficient and stable. Try using a different power source or adapter to rule out any issues with the current power supply.
- Check the thermal management: The black case surrounding the fan getting noticeably warm suggests that there may be a thermal management issue. Ensure that the device is in a well-ventilated area and that the fan is not blocked.
- Check the USB-C connection: Try using a different USB-C cable or port to rule out any issues with the current connection.
- Check the software: Ensure that the software is up-to-date and compatible with the Jetson Orin Nano. Try reinstalling the software or updating to a newer version.
- Check the hardware: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it’s possible that there is a hardware problem with the Jetson Orin Nano. You may want to contact the manufacturer or a professional for further assistance.
In comparison to other Jetson devices, the Jetson Orin Nano is a relatively new device, and it’s possible that there may be some teething issues with the hardware or software. However, the symptoms you described are not unique to the Jetson Orin Nano, and similar issues have been reported with other Jetson devices.
In summary, the issue you are experiencing with your Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit is likely related to a hardware or power-related issue, and you may want to try troubleshooting the power supply, thermal management, USB-C connection, software, and hardware to resolve the issue.

Hi,
Please set up a native Ubuntu host system, put the device into recovery mode, and run the lsusb command to verify its status. For more information, please refer Quick Start — NVIDIA Jetson Linux Developer Guide 1 documentation.
Thanks
Hello, it is detected on lsusb in recovery mode but reflashing does not change the situation at all.
Hi,
Please provide the flashing log and the serial console log for us to review.
Thanks
