Hi,
I’m using Orin NX 8GB under Orin Nano devkit board. I did the flashing using board config p3767-0001-p3768-0000-a0. I found there’s still no 4K resolution display. xrandx command shows the highest resolution is 1920x1080 60Hz. I’m using a 4K monitor I can confirm, but the display cable I’m using is DP (to Jetson) ----> HDMI (to monitor). Is the issue caused by the cable?
Best,
Wenhai.
Yes, it could be due to the cable. Could you try to use a native DP cable/monitor to test ?
For others who met the similar issue:
I have tested today. Even if the cable (DP → HDMI) supports 4K transmission, the display output from Orin NX is still not in 4K. The cable must be DP to DP is you are working on Orin Nano devkit with DP output.
Is the DP to HDMI cable an active one?
What do you mean active one?
For a monitor with HDMI input, use an active DisplayPort to HDMI adapter/cable.
By active, I mean the cable has a chip inside to convert DP signal to HDMI signal.
If it does not, display may still work, but the resolution is likely to be limited as in your case.
Thanks for explanation, yes, you are right. I tested on an active DP to HDMI cable, then the 4K output is working well, but for the passive DP to HDMI cable, it only outputs 1080P FHD.
