Could you tell me how can i terminate Jetson T4000 SoM’s 3x 25G MGBE controllers on my custom carrier board ?
What are the options available to terminate the native 3 differential pair lanes ?
Does it support external PHY chip ?
Termination could be to 1x QSFP28 or 3x SFP28 connectors.
1x QSFP28 connector to:
- 4x SFP28 DAC (direct attach copper) breakout
- 4x SFP28 Active DAC breakout
- 4x SFP28 AOC (Active Optical Cable) breakout
- 4x LC fiber breakout
Since T4000 only has 3x MGBE, the fourth breakout would not be active.
3x SFP28 connectors:
- SFP28 DAC
- SFP28 optical
Hardware could support an external PHY but software currently cannot.
v1.5 of the Jetson Thor Series Modules Interface Design Guide was published to the Jetson Download Center today and shows an example MGBE connection for an Ethernet PHY in Figure 7-13:

Could you tell me if nvidia suggests specific DAC or AOC cable? If yes, Could you please provide me the part number of the same?
Does T4000 allow separate 3x SFP28 termination? When i had queried if jetson T5000 SoM support 4x SFP28, I got the reply saying that 4x SFP28 is not supported. Please clarify this.
When can we expect the software support for this? We want to implement PHY in our design, but we aren’t confident enough yet.
An imminent Jetson Thor Supported Components List update includes two QSFP28 cable part numbers and a PHY part validated by NVIDIA. I will reply here with a link when the new SCL is available on the download center.
The hardware has three MGBE controllers for 3x SFP28 on T4000 and four MGBE controllers for 4x SFP28 on T5000. The reply you received was likely in regard to software support.

The updated SCL was not released until today.
v1.4 of the Jetson Thor Series Supported Component List includes the Marvell AQR113C-B0-C PHY and two QSFP28 cables.

Also, Is there a possibility to get notified via E-mail whenever the Jetson download center is updated with the new files?
As far as I know the download center doesn’t support subscribing to notifications for new posts.
I will forward this request to intenral team to see if can improve.
