Hi,
I am currently using Omniverse VR with a Meta Quest 3 headset. The file size is around 400MB, and we are experiencing lag in the VR view, even though testing is being conducted on an RTX A6000 machine. We have already attempted to optimize the mesh and materials, but the lag persists. Could you please suggest a solution for this issue?
Any lag is more likely to be with the network that the RTX Renderer. The simple test, is to just have a basic scene like a few cubes and see if you are getting the same lag.
If the lag is network related, then streaming a complex model has the same lag as a simple mode, and even a blank screen.
If the lag is RTX related, then increasing the model complexity will show in a reduced FPS, both when using and not using VR.
The A6000 is a very powerful card. It should be able to handle a large complex model. So to check your network, make sure your meta quest headset is connected to a very fast 5G or 10G network router and is close by. Ideally make sure that the machine running kit is HARD WIRED into your router to further reduce lag.
If that model is smooth in normal monitor viewing, this would further suggest a network issue. If not, then there is an issue with your RTX setup.
