Legacy Texture Tools Plug-In not responding as expected

So I initially downloaded the Texture Tools Exporter from +here , and when I tried to load it up in Photoshop CS6 it gave me the error code “Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document”.

I looked into it and realized I need the Legacy version from +here instead, but the webpage doesn’t seem to be responding at all to let me download anything. It seems like its the page and not me, so is the Legacy version no longer available?

Hi holmes.trey99!

For the legacy version link, does the link at the bottom of https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-exporter (which points to https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload#?dn=texture-tools-for-adobe-photoshop-8-55, instead of https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload#?tx=$application,photoshop) work for you?

I’m guessing there’s probably an API version compatibility issue with the new Texture Tools Exporter (the plugin requires Photoshop CC) and Photoshop CS6 - something’s probably changed in the way plugins work with Photoshop in that time, unfortunately.

Oh, wait, never mind, I see the problem - are you using Chrome, by any chance? It looks like on Chrome, one can see the legacy Texture Tools for Adobe Photoshop in the search menu, but Chrome silently blocks it from downloading because there’s an HTTP 301 redirect from HTTPS to HTTP. Working on it now.

Edit: Two quick workarounds for this are to right-click on the link, click “Save Link As…”, and then when you see the Chrome warning message, click on the “^” symbol and click Keep; or to download it using a browser such as Firefox or Edge for the moment.

I was using Chrome, yes! Thank you so much!
