Looking for compatible switch and cable for use with MCX353A-QCBT adapter cards

Hello community.

We are using Mellanox adapter cards MCX353A-QCBT in our nodes together with an older DDR switch Flextronix F-X430046. Now we are looking for another faster switch and found Mellanox FDR switches of SX6000 series. Can we use these FDR switches with our QDR adapter Cards or which switch you would recommend? Which QSFP cable we should use?

Hi,

All of the above will work. However since the adapter is qdr maybe fdr10 or qdr will be more cost effective.

Hello Andreas,

Yes it is ok to use a one of the SX6000 series switch with the QDR adapter.

The switch port will auto-negotiate to the speed of the adapter.
