Low frame rate for RPi HQ camera (IMX477) on Jetpack 5.0.2

Hi Nvidia,

For quite some time, we have been using the Jetson Xavier XN development kit running Jetpack 4.4.1. We are using a Raspberry Pi HQ camera (v.3) which has been running at 30 FPS @ 4K resolution (color images).
Some time ago, we switched to the Jetson Xavier NX 16 GB EMMC production module and updated to Jetpack 5.0.2. After this upgrade we can only run at 20 FPS @ 4K resolution (color images), which is a problem for our application.

I found the following on the ArduCam forum:

Which refers to the Nvidia developer guide:
https://docs.nvidia.com/jetson/archives/r35.2.1/DeveloperGuide/text/SD/CameraDevelopment/SensorSoftwareDriverProgramming.html#serdes-pixel-clock

And I guess the following relates to the same problem:

The problem is, we don’t fully understand the numbers that go into the equation and if there is anything we can do to get back to 30 FPS as with the older Jetpack. Is it possible to make changes to the device tree, or are there any other ways to solve the problem?

Will it make a difference if we upgrade to the latest Jetpack 5.1.1?

Thanks.

hello hetfood6,

we don’t see frame drop issues on r35.3.1 / Xavier-NX / IMX477.
please try upgrade to the latest JetPack release image for confirmation.

Thank you for the fast response.
Sounds good. I will try this next week and get back.
