M.2 NVMe disk not detected on AGX Xavier dev kit

I’m trying to use a M.2 disk (WD Blue 1TB) with an AGX Xavier dev kit, but the disk is not detected on the system. Issue appears similar to this other one, for which I didn’t see a resolution.

The disk is connected in the M.2 Key-M slot on the dev kit.

Here is the output of lspci:

$ lspci
0001:00:00.0 PCI bridge: NVIDIA Corporation Device 1ad2 (rev a1)
0001:01:00.0 SATA controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Device 9171 (rev 13)

And here is lsblk: lsblk.txt (2.4 KB)

Is there anything I should try to get the disk to work?

Is it a brand new SSD ? or has it been used before ?

It is brand new disk.

I just checked that it works by connecting it to a desktop machine. I also formatted it and created an ext4 partition on it but that made no difference.

Sorry for the late resposne, it this still an issue to support? Thanks

Hi,

Yes, we are still having this issue. Is there anything we should try to get the disk up and running ?

Thanks

Any update on this? Please let us know if there is anything we should try or if we should just use a different drive.

If we should use a different drive, please let us know which ones are known to work.

Thanks

@romain.deterre
which exactly WD Blue 1Tb is it ? could you extend which model?
unless it is a SATA implementatoin it should be supported
example of non supported models for reference

You should be able to use any NVME SSD m.2. But not SATA m.2 drives

Yes, this is the issue. I’m using a WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD at the moment. I’ll get a NVME model instead.

Thanks for you help !
