My PC keeps crashing with ConnectX-6 NIC

I installed recently a NVIDIA Mellanox MCX631102AN-ADAT ConnectX®-6 Lx EN Adapter Card. My PC is a HP Z4 G4 Workstation and is running Windows 10 Pro 22H2. Initially, I installed the driver WinOF-2 25.4.26768.0 (MLNX_WinOF2-25_4_50020_All_x64.exe). Even with nothing connected to the NIC, my PC takes between 5 to 20 min before it crashed, rebooting the PC. After the reboot, the NIC was gone from the Device Manager. Then after another reboot, the NIC reappears in the Device Manager, until the next crash.

Two of my colleague installed the same adapter card in their PC, which was running Windows 11. They were able to run about 15 minutes before it stops running. In their case, the PC was not crashing, but they have to manually reboot their PC to make their NIC running again.

Then one of them installed an old version of WinOF-2 (3.10.52010-LTS) and his problems was gone. So I also tried it, but my PC still crash with that version.

I’m wondering what to do next to fix my problems.

Hi Eric,

To understand whats going on with your setup we would need some more information and logs from the time the system has crashed.

This would take a bit more time to investigate and support and I would advice you to open a case with us at our support portal

Thanks,

Ilan.
