We are working on a digital twin of a central solar power plant. Heliostats in these plants have mirrors with a very subtle curvature for focusing. We simulate this curvature using a normal map over the surface of the mirror. The be accurate we have been using 32-bit/pix per channel normal maps (.exr file) in Maya Arnold with good results. I have tried doing the same in Omniverse, but it appears that only 16-bit/pixel work (.png file). Is it possible, somehow, to use 32-bit normal maps with accurate RTX rendering? Is there an extension for that?
