Hello,

Judging by your description and the log, it sounds like this is a laptop.

Could you please post the nvidia-bug-report.log.gz, generated as described here: If you have a problem, PLEASE read this first - Linux - NVIDIA Developer Forums ? It could help with some of the guesswork.

It’s possible that your laptop is one of the few where the external display is hooked up to the dGPU (like a desktop), and the internal display is hooked up to the iGPU (typical Optimus configuration). If that’s the case, you should upgrade to the 375.10 beta (https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/972585), because it fixes some major issues with those configurations.

Moreover, nvidia-settings currently has known issues with configuring displays on PRIME setups, such as with Optimus laptops. Try using an RandR-based tool, such as xrandr.

A quick test could be to simply run ‘xrandr --auto’ with everything connected. If it’s working, the external display should turn on, but should overlap the same region as the internal display. You can then try more complicated setups with xrandr, or with a graphical tool such as the Display tool included with your DE, or a generic graphical tool like ARandR.

Thanks,

Thanks for your post. I have create a nvidia debug log. You can find it here: https://ufile.io/44318

i have changed the username and laptop name

I have udpated to 375 trough ubuntu PPA but i still have the same problem. Trough xrander i cannot enable the second screen.
