(nvidia-settings:7150): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 18:00:18.766: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

Hello,

The issue I report looks common thing.

I run Ubuntu 18.04 on my PC equipped with Geforce 1080.

I reinstalled NVIDIA drivers (new version 470.86) with ubuntu-drivers autoinstall.

When I run nvidia-smi I receive
±----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

However, when I run nvidia-settings command I receive:
ERROR: Unable to find display on any available system

(nvidia-settings:7072): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 17:57:37.743: g_object_unref: assertion ‘G_IS_OBJECT (object)’ failed
** Message: 17:57:37.750: PRIME: No offloading required. Abort
** Message: 17:57:37.750: PRIME: is it supported? no

I have Secure Boot disabled.

Please help.

Thank you very much

You’re running a Wayland session, nvidia-settings is X11 only.

@generix
I wonder what in the logs is telling that the OP is running a Wayland session. I was looking for clues, but can’t tell. You mind helping me out there?
Thanks!

No Xserver process.
