Issue Description

I apologize for the basic question.

In conclusion, for the Drive AGX Orin Nano Developer Kit, is it acceptable to perform shutdown using the Power Off option from the GUI system tray in the top right corner?

Within my company, there is a common understanding that even for the Developer Kit (not just production boards), the proper shutdown procedure requires connecting via Micro USB and issuing the poweroff command through NVShell using TeraTerm.

However, this requires preparing another PC and opening TeraTerm every time I need to shut down, which is cumbersome.

Personally, I believe that shutting down via the GUI Power Off option should be fine, but I cannot find any explicit documentation from NVIDIA confirming that the GUI shutdown is acceptable for the Drive AGX Orin Nano Developer Kit.

Could anyone point me to an official page that clearly states whether GUI shutdown is safe for the Drive AGX Orin Nano Developer Kit?

Thank you for your support.

Thwr ia no DRIVE AGX Orin Nano, suppoese you mean the Jetson AGX Orin Nano devkit
Moving this topic to Jetson Orin Nano forum.

Same question: Is this actually a Drive system, or is it a Jetson Orin? Drive is quite different, including both software and hardware. You might include the content of “/etc/nv_boot_control.conf”.

If this is a Jetson dev kit, then there is an AGX version and a Nano version, but AGX and Nano do not occur together (they are all Orin though). Either of those work with ordinary Linux commands. Knowing which model it is, and if there is any kind of network or other connectivity (other than the micro USB) would help. Knowing if there is some custom third party carrier board is also needed. If this is actually Drive, then this is the wrong forum, but most people won’t have Drive.

Sorry, I made a mistake in my previous wording.
The question above is regarding the Drive AGX Orin Developer Kit.

I work in the automotive industry as part of a data collection team, and my department owns and operates multiple Drive AGX Orin Developer Kits.

We also plan to have our clients use these kits, but they are asking if there is any way to avoid preparing a separate PC just for shutdown operations.

The topic would need to go to the Drive AGX Orin forum (this is the Jetson Orin, which has different hardware and software):
https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/autonomous-vehicles/drive-agx-orin/636

I don’t have access to the Drive hardware and have not worked on it (I wouldn’t mind have some to test with).
