I just got my new jetson orin nano, but I’m having a problem with it’s usb ports not having power to its usb c and usb a ports and is also not receiving data.
Hi evantbright,
Are you using the devkit or custom board for Orin Nano?
What’s your Jetpack version in use?
How do you know the USB power is not enough to be used?
What’s your use case?
We’re using the devkit. Jetpack 6.0. Tested USB power with a USB tester.
What’s the expected USB power?
and what’s the real USB power you measured?
Expected power was 5V and we got 0.
Please also validate on jetpack 5 first to make sure hardware is still fine.
We just did and we got the same results
Hello, I am one of Evan’s team mates. We are still having issues with our board. I tested our Orin Nano with a friends Orin Nano carrier board and the USB ports work fine. Could there be an issue with our carrier board?
Why does first comment sound like your team just got Orin Nano for the first day? If so, then how did this custom board come from? Why you didn’t check devkit in the beginning ?
It sounds like just your carrier board issue. Does this carrier board ever work with any other Orin NX/Nano before?
Sorry if my wording was unclear.

It was our first day working with it.

We don’t have a custom board, just the one that came with the Orin Nano. The second board I tested it with was the devkit board that my friend has which he just received this week.

The one that came with my Orin Nano hasn’t work with my Orin Nano. I can test it with my friend’s Orin Nano later this week.
If it is a bad carrier board that came with the Orin Nano, how do I go about getting a replacement?
Hi,
Just to clarify, what is " just the one that came with the Orin Nano."? Why do you use different terms from “devkit” for this board? Is it not a devkit or you don’t know what it is?
Have you reflash your board with sdkmanager? Or you don’t know what is sdkmanager ?
Sorry. It is the board that came with the Jetson Orin Nano devkit.
Yes, we flashed the Orin Nano with Jetpack 6.0 using NVIDIA SDK Manager.
Could you flash that board with jetpack5.1.2 and also check the usb port functionality?
Flashed it with jetpack 5.1.2 and the USB ports still show 0 V.
Could you check if it is only the hub is dead or even the type C port on the carrier board is dead?
Are you able to share the serial console log after boot for me to check?
Measuring the voltage on each USB A port gives 0 V. mesauring the voltage on the USB C port also gives 0 V.
I connected my Mac to the USB C port but no new tty devices showed up in /dev. I also tried using the ttl pins on the carrier board but still no tty devices showed up. Also tried both with my linux machine but got the same problem.
Hi,
Are you sure this setup does not work? TTL cable has nothing to do with USB power…
I followed the guide but no new tty devices show up in /dev when I connect the ttl cable to my computer.
Check the dmesg on your host side when the cable connected.
This sounds more like your host PC problem.
Here is the dmesg output:
