Additional Information

What I’ve Tried

Tried to reinstall Isaac Sim and Cache. Also emptied the cache. Nothing worked.

Hi. I was the guy brought this issue up back in the discord Omniverse server.

I haven’t solved this, I just want to also reply here to get more attentions from the software team.

Btw, we actually have the exact same GPU and driver version. Could this be the problem? I will install a newer driver later.

But still, I hope software team people can look at this weird bug.

Best

Could you share the discussion link in Discord?

Could you try using Isaac Sim 4.5.0?

In 4.5.0, this bug also exists for me.

4.2 is broken for me. 4.5 takes a lot longer to load as it gets stuck on this file for like 3 mins, but then I can use it after:

Updated to the 570 driver and 4.2 is still broken.

Hi @VickNV , here is the link: Discord

4.5 at least loads for me, but it has a lot less material kinds, so even if that works, feels like a downgrade.

Does material creation work for you in isaac sim 4.5.0 after you upgrade the driver?
I also upgraded to 570 driver but the material stil can be loaded for me.

Did you do anything else?

I think there are extensions that will provide with you more material kind

Hi @HaoyuMa , I didn’t do anything else, just updated the driver, but I am not even sure that was the solution.

It was kinda weird, because on one start I was able to create materials in 4.2 and 4.5, even before the driver update. During that run I installed the new driver. Once I restarted my computer I could not create materials in 4.2 again, but 4.5 works.

Hmm. Thank you for replying to me.

I guess I will wait for the software team to fix this. This is a really weird problem and to my knwoledge, there were previous forums also brought this problem up. And some people may be able to fix it by reinstalling.

I guess I am being unlucky that none of solutions work for me.

My workaround before 4.5 was that I just used USD Composer (2023.2.5) for material / scene editing, because loading materials that were part of my USD files still work fine for me. Maybe see if you can use that in the meanwhile?

Hi. This is the follow up regarding the material loading leading to crash. I have found out the solution. All you need to do is to clean cache from the app selector and --user-reset. This icon problem I believe is related to the extsCache. And problem arises may be because I run ./post_install.sh and change\rename the installation folder later. Hope the software team can fix this bug in the future release.

I presume this relates to the issue you encountered in Isaac Sim 4.5.0. Please create a new topic specifically for the 4.5.0 issue, and provide detailed steps to reproduce it. Thanks.
