Post error message with 2 x Grid K1 on Dell R720 + Sandy Bridge CPUs

We have several Dell R720 + 2 x Grid K1 where we are experiencing Post error messag when setting the Memory Mapped I/O above 4GB to Disabled. See attached screenshot.

I had initially posted this error on the Citrix XenServer GPU forum
http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/348151-is-dell-r720-2-x-grid-k1-supported-problem-at-boot-time/

Right now we are getting around this by setting under "miscellaneous settings" the "F1/F2 prompt on error" setting to be disabled (as suggested by Tobias).

All our 2 x K1 R720 configs are using the Sandy Bridge cpu (E5-2660). I do not have an easy way to test on Ivy Bridge config (E5-2680v2) as these systems are in prod with 1 x Grid K2 (GPU passthrough under XD 7.1).

Didier, in reading the Citrix blog post, can you send the serial numbers and 900 numbers off the K1’s that are producing this issue? I know you ran updates and such but to reset the baseline can you send:

VBIOS version
PLX firmware version
Server BIOS
iDRAC version

Here are the information on latest system we re-installed / redeployed (couple of weeks ago).
I am experiencing the same issue with BIOS 2.1.2.

I used lifecycle controller to update the system firmware.
BIOS Version 2.2.2
Firmware Version 1.56.55 (Build 05)

from the output of nvidia-smi -a

VBIOS Version : 80.07.6D.00.01
VBIOS Version : 80.07.6D.00.02
VBIOS Version : 80.07.6D.00.04
VBIOS Version : 80.07.6D.00.03
VBIOS Version : 80.07.6D.00.01
VBIOS Version : 80.07.6D.00.02
VBIOS Version : 80.07.6D.00.04
VBIOS Version : 80.07.6D.00.03

As far as I can tell our boards have the first PLX firmware
Bridge Chip
Type : PLX
Firmware : 0

Our K1 are from the first generation / GA batch…

I have not updated the VBIOS based on the release notes I found (multi-monitor support).

Hope this helps.
