Ubuntu 20.04 on an x86_64 host is supported for flashing JetPack 6.x. Ubuntu 20.04 is not listed as a supported host for JetPack 7.x; use Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 if you intend to flash JetPack 7.x from Ubuntu. See the SDK Manager compatibility matrix.
Since you have already tried different cables and USB ports, please provide the following from one failed attempt with the JetPack 6.x version you intend to install:
With the Jetson in Force Recovery Mode, run this command on the host and paste the complete output:
lsusb -nn -d 0955:
In SDK Manager, select ⋮ → Export Debug Logs and attach the generated ZIP file.
The popup is a general readiness error; the exported logs should show the first underlying recovery or flashing failure.
for the first command it seem u got the syntax for lsusb and lspci mixed up. (-nn argument)
but here is the result of lsusb -d 0955:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0955:7523 NVIDIA Corp. APX
and here is result of lsusb
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 413c:2113 Dell Computer Corp. Dell KB216 Wired Keyboard
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 046d:c077 Logitech, Inc. M105 Optical Mouse
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0955:7523 NVIDIA Corp. APX
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
and attached is the logs you asked for.
i have verified the compatibility matrix. for the previous succesfull flash i used ubuntu 22.04.
for this one im using 20.04. which should work since im aiming for jetpack 6.2.1
Sending bct_br
ERROR: might be timeout in USB write.
The board-ID errors occur afterward because the board-information read did not complete; they do not currently indicate a corrupt board ID.
Next: Since you already tested different cables and USB ports, please try this same Jetson with JetPack 6.2.1 on the Ubuntu 22.04 host that previously flashed successfully. This cross-check will help distinguish an issue with the current host USB path from one on the Jetson side.
the reason i didint use that same 22.04 host before is because i lost it,
tho im working on it right now, once i get a ubuntu 22.04 install and install the sdk manager i will reply with the result of the installation.
Since the Jetson has not completed its first boot, there is no username or password yet.
Please complete the Ubuntu first-boot setup and create a username and password of your choice.
Then enter the same credentials in SDK Manager and click Install.
