problem with nvidia-390 driver geforce 1070 (ubuntu 18.04)

Hello

I have a problem when trying to install Linux x64 (AMD64/EM64T) Display Driver 390.87

At this point i changed my grub file and added “nomodeset” in order to use my onboard graphics and able to see anything at all.
After boot i changed additional drivers to the nvidia one, and sudo apt install nvidia-390
after reboot my computer get’s stuck starting ubuntu “dev blocks etc”

i also tried to change my grub file to “nvidia-drm.modeset=1” somebody said this could fix it, but then i get the login screen with bad graphics, so slow that i am nog able to log in at all.

Could it be i need to do more steps in order to intall this driver?
When i reed the readmee on this page:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/137276/en-us
There are so many steps i have lost it.

Hope to hear from anybody.
