Problem with the CUDA upgrade (2.2 -> 2.3)

Hi,

today I tried to upgrade my CUDA from 2.2 to 2.3, but the instalation process (of CUDA driver 190.38) fails with this report:
“No suitable driver found for your HW” (translated from Czech language)

I have WinXP 32-bit SP3, newest graphic driver (186.81_notebook_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe)
instaled on NTB MSI-EX623: Geforce 9500M, dual Intel Merom (T3400), chipset MSI-1674

Thanks for any help

You need INF files that list your actual hardware. This often isn’t in the NV release driver set since the OEM laptop companies maintain their own customized variants, and you should download the drivers from them. Unfortunately those updates are often months behind.

But you can easily get INF files online for almost anything… this site is invaluable: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

Thanks a lot,
it is a little confusing but it works:

  1. download the newest graphic card INF file
  2. modify the INF file (replace NvCplSetupEng.exe with NvCplSetupInt.exe)
  3. start the instalation process of CUDA 2.3
  4. during unpacking files overwrite the unpacked INF file with the modified one
  5. enjoy CUDA 2.3 and CULA beta2
