Failure for installing driver 177.55 on Win XP driver installation failure

I have problem when installing CUDA 2.0 beta2 on my PC (Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP3, Geforce 8800 GTX). I started with the new driver “NVIDIADisplayWin2K_177.35.exe”, however, it fails at the very beginning with the following information:

“The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.”

Anyone knows the reason and solution? Thanks in advance.

The guys at Guru3D.com have posted some modified .*ini files: [url=“Forceware 177.35 out at Nvidia.com | Page 3 | guru3D Forums”]Forceware 177.35 out at Nvidia.com | Page 3 | guru3D Forums

Just replace the one in the directory, where the driver got unpacked.

That worked, thought it’s a little frustrating. I hope this issue is fixed in the next release.

Yes, it works for my case. Thank you very much.

Could you post the ini file to here, please?

My XP 32bit system has the same problem.

Just go to my post above and download it…

I have XP64 with a GTS 512 and the .ini listed does not work for me. No driver appears to get installed. Any ideas?
