Reset Jetson xavier nx display manager

Hi,

I followed this page (Ubuntu, how to display server windows on Windows 10 client hosts with Putty and XMing Server) trying to make some changes in the Xavier NX display so I can use xming to show Xavier NX GUI on a windows system with Putty. I could not make it work. So I would like to go back to Xavier NX original display manager. After select the display manager “gdm3” and reboot, I found my desktop is different from the original Xavier NX desktop. Please see the attached. How can I change the display manager to the orginal one?

Thanks,

Please refer to this script but do that with gdm3 instead of lightdm.

Do you mean

  1. change all “lightdm” in the script to “gdm3”
  2. sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm3
  3. reboot

I did that, the desktop was the same as shown in my picture above. How can I fix it?

Thanks,

No… not change things in that script. I mean you go to those files like “/etc/X11/default-display-manager” and check whether it sets the display manager to gdm3. If not, set it to gdm3.

My default display manager was set to gdm3. But the desktop was still not correct.

nvidia@XavierNx:/etc/X11$ more default-display-manager
/usr/sbin/gdm3

Sorry for the late response, have you managed to get issue resolved or still need the support? Thanks

It was resolved

Would you mind to share how it’s resolved? Thanks.
