Firewall rule is set for the omniverse launcher. not proxy configured under windows
@samuel.schaerer i am just another user passing by - for the sake of troubleshooting, is it possible for you to upload your OV Launcher log as an attachment? you can find it here:
- Windows -
%userprofile%\.nvidia-omniverse\logs\launcher.log
- Linux -
~/.nvidia-omniverse/logs/launcher.log
Hi Simplychenable, thank you for the hint, here is the log:

is this happening on a personal machine or are you behind a secure company network? while firewall is set for OV Launcher, i would suggest taking a look at the outbound connectivity/endpoints access listed here:
https://docs.omniverse.nvidia.com/nucleus/latest/ports_connectivity.html#outbound-connectivity-requirements
see if by adding them would help alleviate the issue.
I added outbound and inbound rules for ports 443 and 80, did not make a difference.
Also added all the ports for a workstation: 3001,3009,3333,3020,3010,3080,3085,3100,3180,3400,8891,8892,34080,59624.
Also no improvement. In addition I checked the firewall log file, which does not show any blocked connection.
I tried to start a new topic about “new_project.bat gives packman(WARNING): SSLError self-signed certificate” But this forum wouldn’t let me and suggested this topic was similar. So…
Why would an airgap kit have an SSL error. It is supposed to be air gapped to keep it from ever reaching out to anything that would need a cert? Running a new_project bat following instructions from Building Kit Applications — Air Gap Guide for Kit Applications in a remote desktop gives multiple SSL Certification errors such as
packman(WARNING): SSLError: HTTPSConnectionPool(host=‘Some cloudfront dotnet’, port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /repo_man%401.89.2.7z (Caused by SSLError(SSLCertVerificationError(1, ‘[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: self-signed certificate in certificate chain (_ssl.c:1017)’)))
with dev\tools\repoman\repoman.py", issues at line 39, in modules and 31 in bootstrap() etc.
How do I get around “SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED” as this should never be connecting to the web in the first place?
